UNIVERSITY CONNECT::MY STORY,BY SHEIKH MOHAMED AL MAKTOUM

  • Ruler of Dubai stopped at a traffic light and waited for it to turn green .

They say rules are made by kings but are not for kings – but in Dubai and the UAE – it is very different.

One of the things that has made this country great – is the rule of law.

On the weekend, the monarch of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai(the one in yellow kandoora in the below pic) , went on a pedestrian tour of the recently-opened City Walk in Dubai.

Much to the astonishment and respect of both pedestrians and drivers, the Ruler of Dubai stopped at a traffic light and waited for it to turn green before continuing on his tour.

Being the ruler of the country and following one such rules shows the quality of a leader.

P.S : I didn't find any of the ministers following such rules in my home country.

Edits : For the people who mentioned in comments about the different countries where rules are been followed as a common citizen by rulers . I would like to make a point that among 196 countries we have. 80% of the countries don't follow such rules .I mean no disrespect to any country , if they are following we require more rulers and leaders like them. Cheers .!
