The way I study for history is mainly digitally through videos and Quizlet. This works especially well for history because it is a lot of just pure memorization.
Find videos related to whatever you are trying to learn and then just take notes on the main points of the video. Also, you should take note of key terms and things you think will be on the exam. Try not to take notes with too much detail because you might just end up just not absorbing any of the video(this takes some practice). Turn your notes into quizlet flashcards by making your notes into a question and answer kind of format. Then, look over those flashcards with the learn or flashcard function in Quizlet.
In class, just take some notes and try to absorb the main info during your teacher's lectures. You can also turn those notes into flashcards.
