UNIVERSITY CONNECT::MISEDUCATION OF THE NEGROS, BOOK REVIEW,BY CARTER G WODSON
Honestly I have many books on my bookcase waiting to be read on Black American history. I’ll probably read one or two this month. I have tried to get out of the mindset that Black American History must be limited to one month of study — in actuality it should be given equal importance to wider American history year-round. Anyways, I haven’t decided yet. On my to-read list are:
The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander
Notes of a Native Son by James Baldwin
Southern Horrors: Lynch Laws in All Its Phases by Ida B. Wells (this is a pamphlet actually)….
The Mis-Education of the Negro by Carter G. Woodson
The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. Du Bois (reading over once again)
The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to Alex Haley
