Like every other subjects, your success is highly dependent on how hard you work. Nevertheless, here are a few tricks I personally have followed to achieve A* in Cambridge O-Level physics:

1. Read the textbook, and annotate it with different colours as you go; better if you take notes, which is very portable.
2. A large part of success in physics is heavily dependent on mathematics, so it would be necessary to know how to change subject of a formula, round to appropriate significant figures, and solve simultaneous equations.
3. For the concept questions, if you find it difficult to grasp a new concept, go online. There are tons of useful resources on YouTube and Google: all you have to do is search it up.
4. Practice solving past exam papers - it really helps. Check your answers with the mark scheme.
5. Solve some problems from the textbook, preferably the challenging ones.
